Janus donates waste materials to local animal rescue

July 21, 2021

Janus Europe is fully committed to sustainable manufacturing and reducing our environmental footprint. We are striving for zero waste and aim to recycle all left-over wood and other materials from our production site in Peterlee, County Durham.

Our Health, Safety, Environment & Quality Advisor Amanda Brown is working very hard to develop new initiatives to further improve our waste management and has done a fantastic job creating partnerships with several local community organisations. One of our favourite charities is the wonderful Saltburn Animal Rescue Association (S.A.R.A). This is a rescue centre that provides a safe and secure environment for local stray and unwanted animals.

Janus recently donated a large amount of waste materials, including card tubes and wood pallets, to S.A.R.A. This week the centre staff sent some pictures of their rescue cats playing in the donated card tubes on their ‘cat-io’ in the sun. It looks like both the adult cats and the kittens are really enjoying them!
