Highlights of the FEDESSA Online Conference 2020October 09, 2020
Janus International Europe supported the self storage industry once again as major sponsor of the FEDESSA Online Tradeshow & Conference
This year the FEDESSA board decided to hold the first ever Online European Self Storage Conference, which took place from 6th-7th October 2020. The two days were packed with seminars and discussions about important industry topics. This included, the launch of the industry report, marketing in self storage and the economic climate. Some of the big-name business speakers included:
- James Caan, entrepreneur and former Dragons Den investor
- Sir Clive Woodward, National Rugby hero
- Alex Hunter, former head of digital marketing for the Virgin Group
We also saw the return of some of the favourite speakers from previous events including Roger Martin Fagg, Christel Land and Ollie Saunders, with many other international speakers. As always, Mark Durden-Smith managed the questions and kept the speakers on their toes with his humorous banter.
As major sponsor of the FEDESSA Conference, Janus International Europe launched nokÄ ONE, the industryâs first, all-in-one, on-door Bluetooth smart lock, which is now available across Europe. The launch consisted of a roundtable hosted by Graham Lomax, Sales Director and Paul Shepherd, NokÄ Product Account Manager. Graham and Paul highlighted how nokÄ ONE operates and the benefits of using a smart entry system within self storage. The attendees showed great interest in the product and were very keen to learn more, click here for more information about nokÄ ONE.
The Janus sales team, with their unparalleled knowledge of self storage development in over 40 European countries, were also present. They offered insights to the European market, as well as advice for new operators looking to set up their own facility. The Janus team is always here to help, and you can get in touch through this link.
The final days session ended with Janus Internationalâs Christine DeBord, VP of Business Development, as one of the panel speakers discussing the topic of Technology in Security. This gave a great insight about the security aspects of NokÄ Smart Entry system and how it operates. Rory Windham from Go Store, and a valued customer of Janus, also shared his thoughts about why he chose the NokÄ Smart Entry system for his facilities in York, UK.
Peter Doman, Broking & Sales Director at Basil Fry & Company stated; âAs a broker, I wanted to be sure I understood the nokÄ product to see what risk there was in the product being compromised, so I visited Go Store in York. I was very impressed with its functionality and security. Having explained the product to our Insurers they agreed to cover any thefts in the unlikely event the system failed. Normally cover would only extend for theft claims following a âphysicalâ breachâ.
All-in-all, it was a successful tradeshow with opportunities to learn about the industry, network with industry and business experts, and to have discussions about industry progression.
Thank you to the SSA for putting together an excellent event and to everyone who attended.
